International Kidney Cancer Coalition

The International Kidney Cancer Coalition (IKCC) is the global patient-driven organisation focusing on kidney cancer. This Coalition of Partner Organisations from around the world collaborate, share and learn from each other with the goal of reducing the burden of kidney cancer worldwide. IKCC has a network of 58 partner organisations globally, 25 of which are within the European Union Together we are making a global impact by improving research, treatment, care and survivorship. Our work is grounded in evidence that reflects the experiences of patients, carers and healthcare professionals. This information is shared and incorporated when decisions are made about kidney cancer research, treatment and support. This knowledge and understanding also ensures education, awareness and advocacy programs respond to the needs of people living with kidney cancer.

Role within COMFORT

In COMFORT, IKCC supports the development of trustworthy, patient centric AI models in WP 5 and is also largely involved in communication and dissemination of the study’s results (WP 6). These activities include participation in a survey regarding perceptions of AI, as well as involvement in patient workshops aimed at incorporating the patient perspective into AI models. IKCC will disseminate information on the outcomes of the COMFORT project and related AI tools to optimize their usability and promote broader societal acceptance.
